Get on board with our 2018 Homeschool Event at the Southeastern Railway Museum! The museum will be hosting a special event for homeschool families on Thursday, October 4. Homeschool students will be learning about different types of rail transportation. Some of these modes of transportation include trains, subways, roller coasters, and monorails to name a few. There will be a 6 different stations for your child to experience a variety of learning activities. Our education conductors will guide your group through the stations and help to facilitate the activities at each stop. This program is designed for ages 4-12.

This year we will have a special treat for our homeschool families. The museum will have a visiting steam locomotive on display during the event. It will be on property for less than two weeks. We will also have a representative from the Gwinnett County Public Library reading stories related to rail transportation along with information about programs offered by the library for your children.

Tickets are available for purchase online. This event usually sells out, so we recommend getting your tickets early. Any remaining tickets will be put up for sale in person the day of the event. Families will be placed in the next available time slot. The special cost for the event is $7.00 per person, ages 2 and up (children and adults need a ticket). Children under 2 are free. Admission does not include the train ride. Train rides are available for purchase separately online or at the gate the day of the event. The number of participants for this event is limited, so get your tickets early! Free passes and museum memberships are NOT valid for this event.

Start times are staggered. If you’re coming with another family, please plan to purchase tickets with the same start time. Tickets are NOT transferable between start times. We regret that we cannot make changes once tickets have been purchased.

After the event is over, you are welcome to stay and tour the museum on your own and may bring your lunch and picnic on the museum grounds with other homeschool families. We hope to see you there!
