The Duluth Historical Society’s annual Festival of Trees was held on the campus of the Southeastern Railway Museum for the third year. Many merchants from the local community delighted visitors with their beautiful and brightly-lit trees and the added adornments around their tree. Some organizations’ trees were decorated with themed ornaments. To see all the trees, visit the Southeastern Railway Museum’s photo album on Facebook. DHS kicked off the Gwinnett County 200th birthday celebrations by erecting an 18-foot tree with ornaments listing facts about the county through the years. Bicentennial events continue around the county throughout 2018.
The “Bright Lights 2017” tree winners are:
Best Of Show………….. Tiger Tails Animal Hospital (Duluth)
People’s Choice………. The Farmhouse (Duluth)
The money raised in the voting boxes was donated to the Village of Hope in Lawrenceville that provides food for the homeless and senior citizens. Thanks to everyone that attended.
