DULUTH, Ga. — The Southeastern Railway Museum and the city of Duluth will host the third annual Fast Track 5K this Memorial Day weekend.
This year’s race steps off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, in downtown Duluth and features a patriotic theme. Participants and spectators are encouraged to dress in patriotic attire.
Following the race, the Southeastern Railway Museum will offer free admission to participants with a race number and up to five family members or friends; train rides are extra.
This year’s running of the Fast Track 5K will start in front of Eddie Owens Presents at the Red Clay Theater and finish is on the Town Green approaching the festival center. The day’s activities begin at 7 a.m., and post-race action is expected to conclude by 10 a.m.
All runners will receive a T-shirt. Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners, masters male and female winners and the top three male and female finishers in 14 age categories.
The race is a USA Track & Field certified event and is a Peachtree Road Race certified pre-qualifier. Registration is $25 until May 19 and $30 starting May 2o. To register, log onto tinyurl.com/FT5K2017.
Early packet pick-up will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on May 25 at Southeastern Railway Museum or 7 a.m. on the day of the race, adjacent to the Town Green in Duluth.
