Summer Railway Camp (June Session)

June 17, 2019 @ 9:00 am - June 21, 2019 @ 1:00 pm

If your child is interested in trains or model railroading, come join us for a fun and enriching 5-day summer camp at the Southeastern Railway Museum. The theme for 2019 is En-Gauging With Trains.

Check out the tri-fold brochure!

During camp, young rail enthusiasts will learn about different scales and gauges of trains and model railroads. Campers will get up close with N-scale model railroads, full-size standard gauge trains, and everything in between! This unique experience will introduce young minds to a lifelong hobby of model railroading and differences in scale. Your child will also take a ride on two operating trains as part of their rail education. Children may bring their own HO- scale models to run on the Museum’s new fully-decorated layout.

Our camp is for ages 4 to 12. Campers will divide into three different age groups during the program. Children must be 4 years old at the start of the camp and no older than 12 by the end of the camp. On the last day of camp, we invite parents and family members to join us for a graduation ceremony and a train ride for everyone.

Our 2019 Summer Railway Camp dates are:

June 17-21
July 22-26

Registration is OPEN! Required forms are posted below. Your registration is not complete without these forms.

Registration ends June 1 for the June session and July 1 for the July session. Please send us an email if you’re interesting in registering after the deadline at education@train-museum.org.

The fee for summer camp is $200 per child. Registrations received before May 1 will automatically receive an early-bird discount of $25 per child. The program repeats for each session (the two camp weeks are the same). Participants may register online (please note there is a separate registration for each session) or by sending a check along with the forms that will be posted in the coming weeks. Included in the fee is a T-shirt for every camper, so please make sure to indicate your child’s T-shirt size on your registration form so we can order enough of each.

Sibling discounts are available. Email education@train-museum.org for details including the discount code.

Summer camp will be held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm for children ages 4-12. Children must be 4 years old by the first day of camp and no older than 12 by the end of the camp. Campers will split into three different age groups during the program.
