Meet the wonderful, hard-working volunteers at the Southeastern Railway Museum! Our volunteers have a variety of interests and come from many different backgrounds and professions. Whether our volunteers love trains, transportation, museums, nonprofits, history, or volunteering in general, we’re happy to have such a diverse group of people representing the Southeastern Railway Museum.

January 2019: Ruth Hummel, Education Department
Ruth has volunteered at the Southeastern Railway Museum for about 10 years. She first visited the museum with her two sons on a home
school field trip. Exploring all the trains and displays during their tour sparked her interest in the museum. Ruth and her younger son decided to sign up to be volunteers. During the last several years, Ruth has volunteered in the Education Department as a tour guide, a 2nd Thursday preschool program conductor, and a summer day camp leader.
