Out of an abundance of caution, the Southeastern Railway Museum has decided to temporarily close for a few weeks following the end of operations on Saturday, March 14.

We plan to remain closed through Wednesday, April 8, and will reassess our operations based on additional information as it becomes available.

The museum has seen no suspected or confirmed cases of Coronavirus or COVID-19, and no recent visitors to the museum have reason to worry.

We made this decision in consultation with and based on decisions by local leaders and health experts.

As a result of this decision, we will reschedule a pair of previously announced events: the Steak Cook-Off and Caboose Days. We will announce new dates for those events soon.

We know this decision may be disappointing to some, but it is the right one at this time. Please follow our Facebook page and our website for additional updates, which we will post as they are available.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope you remain safe and healthy!
