SUMMARY:Second Thursday Preschool Program - Ice Cream Trucks
DESCRIPTION:Second Thursday Preschooler Event –The second Thursday of each month from 10:30 AM-12:05 PM\, we invite you and your preschooler to “get on board” for the Southeastern Railway Museum’s special monthly preschool program! \nThis is an interactive educational program that allows the parent (or grandparent!) and child to participate together in activities related to the vehicle of the month. \nEach month\, the program focuses on a different vehicle or method of transportation. There are 5 components to the program that revolve around the vehicle of the month: game\, story/song\, activity\, craft\, and when available\, the actual “vehicle of the month” for children to see and experience. Each component lasts 15 minutes. The components will be facilitated by the museum’s Education Conductors. Second Thursday is perfect for your 2 to 4-year-old. \nIn June 2019\, we’ll be exploring: ice cream trucks! This is one of our most popular programs and has sold out two years in a row – get your tickets early! \nWe will have a REAL ice cream truck on site\, provided by Atlanta Ice Cream Truck! Ice cream will be available for purchase during the event. Prices average around $2.50 – $3 and start at $1. \nThe cost is $10 per participating child. One adult is free per participating child; additional adults are $12. To attend\, check-in at the ticket counter before 10:20 AM on the second Thursday of any month. The program is limited to the first 75 children participants (and their accompanying adults) and we strongly encourage signing up in advance. Advance ticket sales will cut off at 8 pm the day before (Wednesday night). If the event fills up or sells out online\, there will NOT be onsite sales on Thursday. Train rides may be purchased online or when you arrive at the museum. Tickets also include museum admission\, so feel free to bring a lunch and explore after the program! \nWe can’t wait to see you there! \nPurchase tickets online in advance here: https://southeasternrailwaymuseum.thundertix.com/

SUMMARY:Summer Railway Camp (June Session)
DESCRIPTION:If your child is interested in trains or model railroading\, come join us for a fun and enriching 5-day summer camp at the Southeastern Railway Museum. The theme for 2019 is En-Gauging With Trains. \nCheck out the tri-fold brochure! \nDuring camp\, young rail enthusiasts will learn about different scales and gauges of trains and model railroads. Campers will get up close with N-scale model railroads\, full-size standard gauge trains\, and everything in between! This unique experience will introduce young minds to a lifelong hobby of model railroading and differences in scale. Your child will also take a ride on two operating trains as part of their rail education. Children may bring their own HO- scale models to run on the Museum’s new fully-decorated layout. \nOur camp is for ages 4 to 12. Campers will divide into three different age groups during the program. Children must be 4 years old at the start of the camp and no older than 12 by the end of the camp.
