DESCRIPTION:The Southeastern Railway Museum will host the North Georgia Modurail Club’s visiting model railroad layout from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Nov. 3-4. The special layout is included in regular museum admission. \nThe Southeastern Railway Museum’s own layout has made significant progress and has many new\, exciting features. The layout will be running next to the visiting layout in the Exhibit Hall. \nIn addition to North Georgia Modurail exhibit\, there will be “cash” tables selling new and used railroad models\, landscaping\, structures\, track\, artwork\, books\, etc. Items will be priced to sell. \nTrain rides will be available on the historic (standard-gauge) train and the miniature “park” train. \nCost: $10 adults\, $8 seniors 65+\, $7 children 2-12\, under 2 free. Train rides $3 per person.

SUMMARY:Second Thursday Preschool Program - Food Trucks
DESCRIPTION:Second Thursday Preschooler Event –The second Thursday of each month from 10:30 AM-12:05 PM\, we invite you and your preschooler to get on board for the Southeastern Railway Museum’s special monthly preschool program! Stop on by and bring a lunch for after the program! \nThis is an interactive educational program that allows the parent and child to participate together in activities related to the vehicle of the month. \nEach month\, the program features a different vehicle. There are 5 components to the program which revolve around the vehicle of the month: game\, story/song\, activity\, craft\, and when available\, the vehicle itself for children to see and experience up close. Each station lasts 15 minutes. The components will be facilitated by the museum’s Education Conductors. Second Thursday is perfect for your 2 to 4-year-old. \nThe vehicle for October 2018 is: food trucks! \nThe cost is $10 per participating child. One adult is free per participating child\, additional adults are $11. To attend\, check-in at the ticket gatehouse before 10:20 AM on the second Thursday of any month. The program is limited to the first 75 children participants (and their accompanying adults) and we strongly encourage signing up in advance. Advance ticket sales will cut off at 8 pm the evening before the event (Wednesday night). If the event fills up or sells out online\, there will NOT be onsite sales on Thursday. Tickets are valid only for the month purchased and may not be used for another month’s Second Thursday program. \nTrain rides are not included as part of the program but may be purchased separately. So that program participants do not miss any of the program\, the train ride will immediately follow the last station (typically at 12:15 pm). We recommend Second Thursday participants take the train after the program\, but other train rides will be scheduled throughout the morning and afternoon. \nWe can’t wait to see you there! DESCRIPTION:Santa’s been called – he’ll be arriving at the Southeastern Railway Museum on Saturday\, November 17 at 1:00 PM! \nDetails\nSanta will be welcomed again this year by the Jingle Bell Dancers from Miss Cindy’s Dance Studio.  \nThere will be refreshments (cookies and cocoa)\, lunch\, entertainment\, letter writing to Santa\, and an opportunity to take pictures with Santa in a historic setting for your Christmas cards.  Refreshments and entertainment start at 11:00 am. Santa will arrive at 1:00 pm. Please be aware that the admissions gatehouse is very busy right before Santa’s arrival\, so we suggest arriving early to enjoy the museum! \nCookies\, cocoa\, and lunch are sponsored by The Local Pantry in Duluth. \nView photos from last year’s event on our Facebook here! \nDuluth Festival of Trees\nThe Duluth Festival of Trees also opens at the museum on November 17! \n

To ensure that everyone can enjoy the experience\, children are not allowed to attend without a paying adult for supervision. Children under 2 are free with a paying adult. \nTickets\nTickets are available at our Thundertix store beginning September 4.
