SUMMARY:Giving Tuesday
DESCRIPTION:November 28\, 2017\n#GivingTuesday\n \nJoin the Southeastern Railway Museum and nonprofits\, individuals\, families\, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world to celebrate and encourage a day of giving! Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. Every act of generosity counts\, and each means even more when we give together. #GivingTuesday is a celebration of America’s greatest traditions: generosity\, entrepreneurialism\, and community. Everyone has something to give! \nThis year\, the Southeastern Railway Museum is specifically fundraising for the new Rail & Transit Exhibit (RTE) Building. If you’ve visited the museum lately\, you’ll notice we’ve grown! Two of four new railroad tracks have been installed in the new building\, and many historic buses and even a freight train have moved inside. But we still have a long way to go! \nWe need YOUR help to complete the RTE Building and to preserve transportation history for generations to come! The building still needs two sets of tracks to extend outside the building to the existing tracks\, signage\, exhibit enhancements\, and more. \nTo donate this #GivingTuesday\, visit our donations page online HERE! If you’d like\, you may designate your donation to specific fund\, including the RTE Building (read about our other fundraising projects on the donations page). \n  \nNOTE: The museum will NOT be open on November 28 – this is an online fundraiser! \n  \nHere’s where we started… (photo: Dustin Grau) \n \nHere’s how we got there… \n \nAnd here’s where we are now!\n\n \n\n  \nHelp us November 28\, 2017 on #GivingTuesday to help us reach our fundraising goal! DONATE HERE.

SUMMARY:Second Thursday Preschool Program - RVs and Campers
DESCRIPTION:Second Thursday Preschooler Event –The second Thursday of each month from 10:30 AM-12:05 PM\, we want your preschooler to “Get on Board” for the Southeastern Railway Museum’s special monthly preschool program! \nThis is an interactive educational program that allows the parent and child to participate together in activities related to the vehicle of the month. \nEach month\, the program features a different vehicle. There are 5 components to the program which revolve around the vehicle of the month: game\, story/song\, activity\, craft\, and when available\, the vehicle itself for children to see and experience up close. Each station lasts 15 minutes. The components will be facilitated by the museum’s Education Conductors. Second Thursday is perfect for your 2 to 4-year-old. \nThe vehicle for July 2018 is RVs (and campers). Prepare for some camping-themed activities! \nThe cost is $10 per participating child. One adult is free per participating child\, additional adults are $11. To attend\, check-in at the ticket counter before 10:20 AM on the second Thursday of any month. The program is limited to the first 75 children participants (and their accompanying adults) and we strongly encourage signing up in advance. Advance ticket sales will cut off at 8 pm the evening before the event (Wednesday night). If the event fills up or sells out online\, there will NOT be onsite sales on Thursday. Tickets are valid only for the month purchased and may not be used for another month’s Second Thursday program. \nTrain rides are not included as part of the program but may be purchased separately. So that program participants do not miss any of the program\, the train ride will immediately follow the last station (typically at 12:15 pm). We recommend Second Thursday participants take the train after the program\, but other train rides will be scheduled throughout the morning and afternoon. \nWe can’t wait to see you there!
