Second Thursday Preschooler Event –The second Thursday of each month from 10:30 AM-12:05 PM, we want your preschooler to “Get on Board” for the Southeastern Railway Museum’s special monthly preschool program!
This is an interactive educational program that allows the parent and child to participate together in activities related to the vehicle of the month.
Each month our program features a different vehicle. There are 5 components to the program: game, story/song, activity, craft, and when available, the actual “vehicle of the month” for children to see and experience. Each component lasts 15 minutes. The components will be facilitated by the museum’s Education Conductors. Second Thursday is perfect for your 2 to 4-year-old.
The vehicle for February 2018 is ROCKETS & SPACECRAFT. During or after the program, join Gwinnett County Transit at the Southeastern Railway Museum and learn all things TRANSIT!
Preschoolers launching stomp rockets!
PLEASE NOTE: The Southeastern Railway Museum does not have any actual rockets. (The event photo was taken at Kennedy Space Center.) We WILL, however, welcome the Southern Area Rocketry model rocket club (SOAR)! Children will be able to make and launch their own stomp rockets for the ‘vehicle’ station.
The cost is $10 per participating child. One adult is free per participating child, additional adults are $11. To attend, check-in at the ticket counter before 10:20 AM on the second Thursday of any month. The program is limited to the first 75 children participants (and their accompanying adults) and we strongly encourage signing up in advance. Advance tickets will cut off at 8 pm the day before (Wednesday night). If the event fills up / sells out online, there will NOT be onsite sales on Thursday.
